Description
Levant Heights – Scorched Earth – Heavily Peated – Cask Strength is the rawest expression of Riachi Distillery’s smoky craft, inspired by their Black Peak Bonfires series. Forged in the rugged heart of Mount Lebanon, this release reflects both rebellion and tradition, shaped by over eight generations of Lebanese whisky-making expertise.
Crafted from a blend of Scottish peated malt and locally sourced sun-dried malt, the mash undergoes a unique cold-smoking process with Lebanese peat, before being double distilled in copper pot gooseneck stills. Each batch is then matured for a minimum of five years in new charred American oak barrels, capturing the depth of the Levantine terroir.
On the nose, Scorched Earth releases captivating aromas of distant bonfires, smoldering embers, and fresh peat, layered with smoked meat, iodine, black pepper, ginger, tobacco leaf, and a subtle touch of cinnamon.
On the palate, the intensity mellows into a more delicate symphony: earthy peat mingles with wood and baking spices, enriched by vanilla, caramel, and the sweetness of crème brûlée. Savory chestnut cream adds richness, while soft hints of coconut drift across the finish—like a gentle breeze over scorched earth.
A bold cask strength single malt, Levant Heights Scorched Earth is Lebanon’s most unapologetically smoky whisky to date.
