Description
The 2018 Ixsir Grande Reserve Red is a masterful expression of Lebanese terroir, drawing from high-altitude plots in Bechouat, Kab Elias, Deir Ahmar, and Jezzine. A blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, it has been aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (15% new) to achieve a sophisticated balance of fruit and wood. The nose is remarkably precise, offering an inviting mix of ripe wild black fruitsâparticularly blueberries complemented by sophisticated hints of cedar.
On the palate, this wine is linear, round, and deeply complex. The influence of the Syrah is evident, providing a vibrant personality that remains elegant rather than heavy. This vintage leaves a lasting impression typical of exceptional years, combining a fresh acidity with a smooth, lingering finish. It is the perfect partner for bold, flavorful dishes such as entrecote, beef ribs, or a slow-cooked ragout with a rich sauce.
