Description
The Spirit of Akkar
Hailing from the historic village of Rahbe in the Akkar region, Arak Rahbe Baladi is a tribute to the ancient “Baladi” (village-style) distillation. This is a handmade, artisanal creation produced in small batches using techniques passed down through generations of Northern Lebanese distillers.
Authentic Ingredients & Purity
The character of this Arak is defined by its raw, local ingredients:
Indigenous Grapes: Sourced from native vineyards, these grapes provide the robust, earthy foundation essential to a true “Baladi” profile.
Fresh Hina Aniseeds: Only the most aromatic Hina aniseeds are selected, providing a deep, spicy sweetness that balances the intense alcohol.
Triple Distilled: Though it carries a formidable 70% ABV, the spirit is distilled three times in traditional copper stills. This rigorous process ensures a methanol-free result that is exceptionally clean and smooth despite its strength.
The Traditional Serving
Because of its high 70% concentration, Arak Rahbe Baladi requires proper dilution to unlock its complex herbal bouquet. To enjoy it at its best, mix 1 part arak with 3 parts water; this creates a rich, dense white louche (milky effect). Always add the ice after the water to ensure the anise oils remain perfectly integrated, making it the ideal companion for a traditional Lebanese Mezze.
