Levant Heights – Single Pot Still Malt & Wheat – Italian Cask Finish is inspired by the revered Irish single pot still tradition, yet distinctly Lebanese in character. Crafted by Riachi Winery & Distillery, it combines triple distillation in copper pot stills with a mash bill of 60% malted barley and 40% Lebanese durum wheat.
This double-aged expression begins its journey in lightly toasted and charred American oak barrels, then matures further in virgin Italian casks sourced from a small family cooperage in southern Italy. The result is a whisky that bridges heritage and innovation with remarkable finesse.
On the nose, delicate aromas of chamomile, gorse, and cut grass intertwine with mint, sawdust, coconut, and baking spices. The palate unfolds with caramel, vanilla cake, and crème brûlée, layered with fruit tart, pine nuts, white wine, almond butter, and dried apricots. Notes of ripe pear linger on the finish, leaving a refined impression of balance and elegance.
