Description
Levant Heights – Espresso Roast Dark Malt scored 90/100 in the 2023 Fall issue of Whisky Advocate magazine.
This Lebanese single malt whisky is meticulously crafted in Mount Lebanon by Riachi Winery & Distillery, a house renowned for pushing the boundaries of whisky making. Inspired by the robust flavors of stout and black beers, it is made from highly kilned dark malted barleys, then double distilled in copper pot gooseneck stills and aged in virgin white oak barrels.
On the nose, expect enticing aromas of toasted sesame, roasted peanuts, walnuts, and pecan pie. The palate reveals rich layers of dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, roasted espresso, graham crackers, toffee, maple syrup, condensed milk, and molasses.
This release also pays tribute to the Lebanese heights of Mount Hermon, home to the palace of Baal, the Canaanite god of seasons and fertility. Its depth and aromatic richness make it especially suited for colder times of the year, while its light body allows it to be savored even in warmer months.
Levant Heights Espresso Roast Dark Malt is a true testament to Lebanon’s craft whisky tradition—rebellious, complex, and unforgettable.
