The Balvenie Double Wood is a 12 Year-Old double matured Single Malt. This specific maturation process brings special qualities to the Single Malt. 12 Year-Old Balvenie has been aged in traditional oak casks and then in first fill Sherry casks. As traditional oak casks soften the spirit and account for its character, Sherry casks provide its full, mellow texture.

Due to this process, The Balvenie 12 Years Old DoubleWood is often described as the “richest and smoothest of Malts”.

Tastings

Colour: amber with mahogany glow.

Nose: powerful Oloroso Sherry aromas, providing a fruity sweetness with cinnamon, orange and a toasty hint lifted by honeyed vanilla.

Palate: a velvety and mellow Single Malt combining the sweetness of hazelnut, cinnamon spices and delicate note of Sherry.

Finish: long and warm over a sparkling backdrop.
